Privacy Policy

How MyTeachingHub collects, uses and protects your information. Written in plain English so you actually know what you're agreeing to.

1. Information we collect

We collect only what we need to operate the service:

  • Account info — your full name, email address and a securely hashed password, provided by you at signup. Email addresses are verified via a confirmation link before the account becomes active.
  • Payment info — Razorpay processes your card or UPI payment directly. We only ever receive the order ID, payment ID and HMAC signature for verification. We never see, store or transmit your card number, CVV, UPI PIN or bank credentials.
  • Usage data — standard server logs (IP address, user-agent, timestamp) and a per-user record of which notes you view or download. These records drive the per-chapter rate limits that protect the library from scraping.
  • Anonymous preview traffic — page-1 previews of premium chapters can be opened without an account. For these requests we only store the IP address temporarily to enforce a rate limit; it is not linked to any identity.
  • Cookies — a Supabase authentication cookie keeps you signed in, and a short-lived mth_recovery cookie is set only during a password-reset flow to confine that session to the reset page. We do not use any third-party advertising, analytics or tracking cookies.

2. How we use your information

  • Provide access to the chapters and subscriptions you have purchased.
  • Verify payments via Razorpay's signature and webhook flow.
  • Embed a per-user email watermark on every PDF you view or download (see section 4).
  • Send transactional emails — email confirmation at signup, password resets, payment receipts, subscription-expiry reminders. We never send marketing emails without a separate opt-in.
  • Detect abuse (mass downloads, account sharing, attempts to remove watermarks) and protect the platform from fraud.

3. Categories of recipients

We rely on a small number of trusted infrastructure providers to deliver the service. Each only receives the minimum data needed to perform its function, and is bound by its own privacy and data- security terms:

  • Cloud database & authentication provider — holds your account record, hashed password and subscription history.
  • Cloud object-storage provider — holds the original PDF source files. PDFs are streamed through our server with your personal watermark applied before reaching your browser; you never receive a direct storage URL.
  • Razorpay — payment processor. Handles your card or UPI transaction directly under its own privacy policy.
  • Transactional email provider — sends the account, password and payment emails described in section 2.
  • Cloud hosting provider— runs the application servers that respond to your browser's requests.

We do not sell or rent your data. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not run any third-party analytics or behavioural tracking on the site. If you have a legal or security reason to know a specific provider name, email contact@myteachinghub.in and we will tell you.

4. Watermarks and traceability

Every PDF you view or download is stamped, on each page, with the email address on your account. This deters and traces unauthorised redistribution of paid content. The watermark is generated at request time from your authenticated session and is not visible to anyone outside our systems — but it makes leaked copies traceable.

Anonymous page-1 previews are stamped with the MyTeachingHub brand only and contain no personal information.

5. Data retention

We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. After you delete your account, we retain payment and subscription records for up to 7 years to meet Indian tax and accounting requirements (under the Income Tax Act and GST law). Server logs are rotated and deleted within 90 days. The watermarked PDF cache is purged immediately when an account is deleted.

6. Your rights

You have the following rights with respect to your personal data, consistent with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023:

  • Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • Correct — ask us to fix inaccurate information.
  • Delete — request deletion of your account and associated data (subject to the retention rules in section 5).
  • Grievance redressal — raise any privacy concern with us first; if it is not resolved you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.

Email contact@myteachinghub.in from the address registered to your account and we will respond within 30 days.

7. Security

We use Row-Level Security in our database, HTTPS for all traffic, salted and hashed passwords managed by Supabase Auth, HMAC signature verification on every Razorpay webhook, and the privileged service-role key is restricted to server-side code that never reaches your browser. Object-storage credentials are equally server-side only. No system is ever 100% secure, so please use a strong, unique password and tell us immediately at contact@myteachinghub.in if you suspect your account has been compromised.

8. Children

The platform is intended for students studying the CBSE syllabus, Classes 6 to 10 — most of whom are minors under Indian law. In line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, a student under 18 should only use MyTeachingHubwith a parent or guardian's permission, and a parent or guardian should be the person creating the account, paying for any subscription and providing consent on the child's behalf. We do not use a minor's data for behavioural tracking or targeted advertising of any kind.

9. Data location

Account, payment and PDF data is held in cloud infrastructure operated by the providers described in section 3. Some of this infrastructure may be located outside India. By using the service you consent to your data being processed in those locations, subject to the safeguards each provider publishes in its own privacy and security terms.

10. Changes to this policy

We will update the "Last updated" date above when this policy changes. Material changes will also be communicated by email to active account holders. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated policy.

11. Contact

For any privacy or data-protection concern, write to contact@myteachinghub.in or by post to Delhi, India.

12. Grievance Officer

In accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we have designated a Grievance Officer to address questions and complaints relating to your personal data:

We acknowledge grievances within a reasonable timeframe and respond substantively within 30 days. If your concern is not resolved to your satisfaction, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.
